Orange Hard sauce - Victoria Woodman
1/2 cup Butter softened or Margarine
Zest of one orange and juice
5 cups of icing sugar (adjust for firmness)
1/4 tsp vanilla.
Mix well and shape it into a cone. Decorate with holly. In our house this accompanied steamed pudding.
Steamed Carrot Pudding::
4 grated large carrots
1/2 cup rice or plain flour
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/4 cup sugar or raisins
1 egg
If not moist enough add as much apple sauce as needed
Mix all ingredients. Place in a buttered bowl. Cover with foil and steam for three hours.
